Google Checkout fee increase

So i'm really bummed at the google checkout fee increase. I'm just so surprised that they raised to non-compete price levels. Overall google checkout is pretty nice, but could be so much better and rarely sees improvements. I'll probably still use it, but not exclusively anymore, because a lot of people request paypal and i'll just cater to them now because there is no advantage to not doing it.

Back from a long trip to 3 cities in 3 days.  Minneapolis, Nashville, & Cincinnati.  Almost everyone in the airports had either a blackberry or an iphone.  I felt like the only one there without a pda style phone... oh well. Other than that we had a great time shooting photos & video in each of the cities but were a little rushed with all the flights.

Long time since last update. Now my ipod mysteriously works again with no intervention. I got a cool new watch from fossil for Christmas. Watched the classic horror thriller "Dawn of the Dead" which my brother brought back when he was in town. Went to the Chiefs v Chargers game in KC, it was 62 degrees when we started tailgating, it was 20 degrees by the 2nd half of the game.

iPod broken

Well my 30gb video ipod is broken. It was acting really weird for a while, I kept having to do hard resets and it would come back. Then one day it just wouldn't do anything, so I ordered a new battery off ebay. I replaced the battery and still nothing. I came across a post that said you need to put a businesses card inside to add extra pressure. To my surprise this actually worked, I couldn't believe it. It only lasted a week though, now it won't come on again. I think the logic board is going out, but have no real idea. For now it's just a paper weight that stares at me and laughs :-(

Epson Disc Producer

A cool new item i've read about just recently is the Epson Disc Producer. It's just another in the automated cd/dvd publishing realm, but it catches my eye because of the quality i've seen and experienced with epson cd printers. I've been a long time epson r300 and r200 user and have dealt with all the frustrations because of the excellent print quality. I'm looking forward to hearing more about the disc producer and seeing some real world tests on it's robotics. For now here' s the link to the epson site:

iphone

So I haven't posted in a while, but we met with some business friends and what do you know they all have iphones. Not sure why i don't have one, other than the fact that ATT has horrible plans... Anyway, I think they're one of the coolest icons a media professional can have, and they're great for showing work too. On a side note my dad just got a new gps and also has a cool little tablet by Nokia, the Nokia N800
The tablet is pretty cool and there are some great software pieces that try to imitate iphone, and do a decent job, it's worth checking out.

Photos of Fish

Well i've taken some new shots of my saltwater tank. Used my wife's Nikon D40, works great at ISO 1600 or 3200 depending on where you're at in the tank. Here's a decent shot I grabbed the other night.

Fish Seminar

I'm really kicking myself for not going to a seminar in Omaha that had Anthony Calfo. He talked about aquatic photography and they also gave a behind the scenes tour of the Omaha Zoo. Oh well I guess you can't win them all, maybe they'll have someone again sometime soon.

Networking craze

So I've been going to networking events like crazy this past week. Went to our BNI group on Thursday morningBNI Site, PNG group meeting on ThursdayPNG Site night, then the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Small Business Network meeting Friday morningLCOC Site. Met a lot of cool people and made some decent contacts.

BNI networking

So we're in the BNI sunrise chapter here in Lincoln. We meet every Thursday at 7am, for networking and breakfast. It's a good group, let me know if you'd like to visit some time. Today I passed around my ipod showing the 360 photos we did of The Grand Manse, everybody got a kick out of it.
I'm looking at getting an ipod touch but I don't know if it will display the photos in a way that makes them 360. On my 30gb video ipod i can use the scroll wheel to go thru them really fast and it gives the appearance of a qtvr. With the ipod touch you just use your finger to flip thru them, but it's much slower and it gives them motion, which I don't want for the 360. I just need to get my hands on an ipod touch to try it out.

360 Panoramas

We've been shooting a lot of 360 panoramas lately. Some of the latest ones we've done have been for the Grand Manse downtown.
